Meet Your Professor

Mohan Sawhney is the Associate Dean for Digital Innovation at Northwestern Kellogg School of Business. 

Mohan is a globally recognized scholar, consultant and speaker in innovation, product strategy, modern marketing, and AI strategy. He has won several awards for his teaching and research, including the Sidney Levy Award for Teaching Excellence at the Kellogg School, the Accenture Award for the best paper published in California Management Review, and the Outstanding Professor of the Year at Kellogg.

Mohan has written seven management books, including The Sentient Enterprise: The Evolution of Business Decision Making (October 2017) which made the Wall Street Journal bestseller list. His research has been published in leading journals like California Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review. He is a contributor to Forbes and has published extensively in Fortune, Financial Times, CIO Magazine and TheHill.com. Mohan is a pioneer in online learning. He has created several successful online executive education courses and has co-authored several platform strategy simulations including CloudStrat and DigiStrat.

 Beyond academia, Mohan advises and speaks to Global 2000 firms and governments worldwide. His speaking and consulting clients include leading technology platform companies like Adobe Systems, AT&T, Boeing, Bosch, Facebook, Google, Honeywell, Intuit, Microsoft, Rockwell Automation, Roche, SAP, Salesforce, Sony, and Textron. He serves on the Board of Directors at Reliance Jio, the world’s leading digital services platform company. He also serves on the advisory boards of several technology startups, including Course5 Intelligence, Kognetics, LawGeex, MommyDaddyMe, PomVom, QualSights, Sprinklr, StartupWind, and vMock. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Study for Business Markets (ISBM) at Penn State University and a member of the Advisory Board at Chicago Innovation.

 Mohan holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta; and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
